“3 Public Safety Communications Measures Clear House Committee With Bipartisanship”
On January 21st, The House Energy and Commerce Committee held a mark up hearing on 10 bills that lasted almost six hours.
Three of the 10 covered changes in regulation at the FCC aimed at public safety communications garnering unanimous bipartisan support from lawmakers.
Contention did come to over permitting reforms to the Clean Air Act creating carve outs to hasten production of industrial plants. What the Republicans called "common sense reforms" were rebutted by the Democrats as “gifts to polluters.” All were enacted on a party-line vote.
