ABOUT Eric

Eric Urbach is a Bay Area reporter and UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism student, covering the intersections of politics, policy, technology, and the arts.

Eric’s reporting has focused on local bay area issues of interest with his work appearing in the SF Examiner, East Bay Times, Mercury News, MSN Bay Area, KRON-4, KGO-7, Local News Matters, Oakland Report, among others.

While still perusing his undergraduate degree, Eric reported for Broadband Breakfast in Washington DC, covering the intersections of politics, policy and technology from the halls of Congress to the FCC. Previously, Urbach worked as a City Government reporter for the Daily Californian, UC Berkeley’s award winning student paper.

Prior to journalism, Eric worked in the music industry as a recording engineer, touring musician and ran operations for the boutique lifestyle brand Blackwing.

Eric holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley.
